Looking for a bit of advice. My son will be 3 at the end of May and we have been ‘gently’ potty training for a few months - what I mean is we have been having nappy free time with the potty and been slowly increasing the time.
All was going well but about 10 days ago, what seemed like out of the blue, he has become hysterical during bath time (now even at the thought of it). He tells me over and over he needs a poo (which he doesn’t) or a ‘pee pee’ (he used to go in the bath all the time). This continues until he gets his nappy on before bed. After which he goes back to normal like nothing has happened. However he is absolutely distraught now at bath time to the point he almost makes himself vomit and a few days ago he gets upset during nappy free time. Nothing we have tried so far with him seems to have improved anything. I try and reassure him, acknowledge that he is finding this hard and say I’m going to help him, I try taking his mind off it by telling him stories (which he loves) but that only works for a short period.
Any advice would be appreciate.
